Caona: A New Way to Stay

Caona (from the Taino word for golden) is our integrative accommodation finder system. Visit Providenciales Accommodation to see how this system works.

This proprietary system links to calendar and rate information to provide up-to-date available and pricing information, and allows properties to be sorted, filtered and ultimately guide visitors to book direct with hotels and property managers.

We’ve developed this system after speaking to local hoteliers and villa managers, who were unsatisfied with high commissions payable to the large OTAs. From a tourist perspective, the ability to integrate both traditional hotels, all-inclusive, villas, and other vacation rentals into one, unified list helps them find their perfect accommodation.

This system is still in beta and we welcome any feedback or suggestions on how to improve, or add new features.

How do I get listed?

Listings are included as part of an advertising campaign package.

Availability Information

iCalendar (.ics) are supported to provide real-time availability information. Simply provide the calendar URL and the Caona system will keep your availability up-to-date.

Calendars are updated every 4 hours.

Rate Information

There are a few different options to provide us with automated rate and pricing information. If you are using a channel manager (such as 365Villas), get in touch with us to see if we support it.

For villas and smaller properties, you can use a Tarifa rate sheet or a Google Sheets Document to import rates.

Logos

Booking destinations, determined by domain, allow a logo to be displayed. This helps convey trust when visitors are referred to your site for more information or to start the booking process.

Listing Your Property

The following is required to list a property under the Property Finder.

• Name of property.
• At least 6 high-res photos. Must be landscape orientation (portrait orientation not accepted). Minimum resolution is 2048x (width in pixels). Photos must be professional photos (cell phone photos are not accepted).
• General description. Approximately 40 words (limit between 30 and 50). Must be written in 3rd person.
• Location description (where the property is located). Approximately 40 words (limit between 30 and 50). Must be written in 3rd person.
• Beach description (on beach, or near beach, or waterfront). Approximately 40 words (limit between 30 and 50). Must be written in 3rd person.
• List of amenities. We have a fixed set of amenities, and not all amenities you provide may be translatable to our list.
• A long-form description, of at least 500 words. Must be unique content, not copied from another website. Must be written in 3rd person, and should be split into headers (as opposed to long block of paragraph text).
• Optional: logo for your property or booking company.

For hotels and resorts:

• Options for ‘Restaurant’, ‘Spa’, ‘Bar’ on site.

For villas:

• Number of bedrooms.
• Number of bathrooms.
• Maximum occupancy.

For villas, we require an iCal (or alternative) calendar URL for availability.

For rates, we suggest using a Google Sheets rate sheet. This is simply a Google Sheets document that you have control over, and add the rates according to our specific format. Then, you simply provide us with a public URL, and our system will read it every day.
